There are sessions that feel like work, and then there are sessions that feel like pure joy—and this sunrise engagement session was absolutely that. Not only was I honored to capture such a special time, but these two just happen to be amazing friends of mine, which made the entire morning even more meaningful. 💛

They’re tying the knot this October and I’m counting down the days with them. I truly could not be happier for the two of them. Watching their love story unfold, and now being able to document it in photographs, is the kind of full-circle moment that makes me love what I do even more.

Now, let’s talk about the weather for this session. It was not exactly what you dream of when planning a sunrise shoot. At one point it was nearly pouring, but these two were absolute troopers. They didn’t let the rain stop them, and honestly? It made the whole experience even more memorable. There’s something so romantic about choosing joy no matter what the forecast looks like.

And as if we didn’t already have enough fun, we made an unexpected little friend—a sweet cat who joined us for part of the session! 🐾 The furry friend definitely gave us some laughs and made the morning even more unique. It’s those little surprises that make every session so special.

This was also my first time photographing at Songin Sunflower Farm, and let me tell you… WOW. Between the sunflowers and the rustic charm of the farm, I already know this won’t be my last time there. Pair all of that beauty with two people who are completely in love, and you have pure magic.

I left this session with a full heart and so much excitement for their October wedding day. To my sweet friends: thank you for trusting me to capture your love in this season. I’ll forever be grateful to have been a part of it. 💍✨
