This year, my Holiday To-Do list looks a little different than last year. Why? Because I didn’t have a to-do list last year and I should have.
Last year at this time, I had just finished up my busy Holiday season and I found it hard to remember the true meaning of the Holidays. I was too busy running around this little town trying to find the perfect gift for my family and Tylor’s, wrapping late at night (trying to make it look at least decent because wrapping is NOT my thing), and simply trying to find the time to even enjoy the Holidays.
I decided that this year things would not be like that. I decided that I would spend more time being present than actually wrapping them. You wouldn’t find me out on the famous “Black Friday” where people are often fighting over that last Xbox or set of cooking pans. You laugh, but y’all know it’s true. This year, I spent my “Black Friday” sleeping in with Tylor and our Maisy girl, cooking breakfast for us all at 10:00AM, and decorating our home.
This time this year, I will be present not only on the Holidays, but every single day. I will find time to give more and worry less. I will spread the love and joy of the Holidays not only with my family and loved ones, but everyone. A simple “good morning” with a smile can make someones day. Let’s try to remember the true reason for the season and remember what truly matters. It is truly a blessing to be where we are today with the “little things” like food, water, shelter, that are often forgotten as true blessings.
I hope that my Holiday To-Do list has inspired some of you to make your own! Feel free to comment below with some things that make you #hashtagblessed. Happy Holidays from my little family to yours!
