CHQ Barn Mayville, NY Wedding

Dan + Emily | Mayville, NY

Dan and Emily are seriously the sweetest couple. You can just feel it when you’re around them! You can see it when you watch them with one another. You can hear it in the stories that their family members and best friends share about them. They have such a love for one another and that is why even a rainy wedding day could be absolutely incredible and joyful!

Molly and I showed up on the wedding day and it was nothing but clear blue skies. I had Molly check the radar and it was only showing an 11% chance until about 7:00 pm – so that was great for us! As I was just starting to photograph some getting ready images, I looked outside and the rain came pouring down. My heart sank. Dan and Emily had picked the most amazing venue for their wedding day. I was already trying to think of different ideas in my brain of what to do for portraits!

We stayed positive and kept the good vibes going! Nothing was going to stop this amazing day! Then, something absolutely amazing happened. Right when Molly and I headed over to the ceremony space…. the SUN CAME OUT!!! And the sun stayed out! We were able to get the ceremony, family formals, just married portraits and bridal party all done WITH sun! We even got to go BACK out to get a bit of glow for sunset before another rain cloud!

It was such an honor to be the ones to capture their day!!! Molly and I loved getting to meet Dan and Emily’s families, celebrate alongside of them and document their love!!! Enjoy my favorites!
